C\TREK provides detailed
information regarding the CICS/TS system.
The menu is divided into two major areas, the top part that
provides information regarding the individual CICS domains. Detailed domain information, including control block
structure is provided in this area.
The bottom part provides detailed information that eases the
process of tuning CICS. Some
of the options available for tuning CICS include information
regarding:

Operating System – provides a series of
displays that the CICS system programmer should review to ensure
that CICS has the proper resources assigned from an operating
system point of view. Important
review areas include the amount of virtual storage available to
CICS, the system priority, the CICS paging activity, the amount
of TCB CPU cycles being consumed by each TCB subset (CICS, MQ
Series, Sockets, DB2 etc.) within CICS and other important data

Performance Options – provides a series of
displays that can be used to tune the different CICS resources.
Options available include information regarding System
Initialization Table (SIT) specifications, Temporary Storage,
System utilization of CPU and storage resources, File (VSAM
including LSR and NSR) and program definitions.

D2 – provides information regarding the DB2
interface with CICS including recommendations for thread (L8)
definitions for either the DB2 entries or pool.
